I had a computer with the beepcode for a video error. but there was not a failure on the video adapter itself, but on the motherboard. a swollen electrolytic capacitor. 1500uF / 6.3V the main cause for failures of electronic devices. The board was pretty old and I didnt want to spend the time on pulling it out of the computer case. so I just extracted the capacitor like a rotten tooth. :D Usually the pins stuck in the solder joints so that they can be desoldered from the parts side without disassembling the board from the case.
