I've seen people all over the internet struggle with this, I've even seen some home-mechanics struggle with this in person. But there is an easy way to remove the large nut from your scooter's clutch. Simply place a suitable-sized wrench over it, and tap it on the ground, it will loosen after the first or second hit quite easily. This procedure fits almost all scooters of all sizes in all brands and models, in this case the job was performed on a 2009 Aprilia Sportcity ONE 125 which has the LEADER engine, almost the same as a Vespa LX150. The same method applies for nearly all scooter brands models and countries of origin, including the popular chinese GY6 motors. A little more before/after action of this exhaust. Its gotten some serious compliments over the past week, even the local Aprilia dealer was mighty impressed with it. History/Summary: After the $30 pitbike exhaust muffler arrived I gave it to LaLaLauren311 as a gift. She had no idea what it was and wasn't sure if even to be excited or not, haha! Sunday morning before she got out of bed I quickly mounted the can on her bike and got it ready for her to go. We surprised her with it later when she went to the grocery store. Its nice to see that the exhaust can weighs in at only 2lbs, versus the old part coming in at about 20lbs. On such a small bike that is a huge difference! It may be just a wee bit noisy now, as scooters tend to hold a constant RPM when riding so the exhaust roars the same note all the time. This could become a bit of a drone on the ears. We'll see if she or I get tired of it, and if so I'll fashion a plug to go in the end of it to reduce the sound just a bit. You may notice that I like cheap parts, case in point here I am trying to find an inexpensive exhaust for an Aprilia Sport City One 125 scooter. An Akrapovic slip-on retails around $500, and other complete systems up to $700!!!! I just can't justify spending that much on a $2500 (new cost) bike! So I'll pass and find a ebay pit-bike exhaust can that will fit. Even if the Chinese-made part explodes, at $50 each 10 of them will have to explode before I'd match the cost of a name-branded exhaust muffler <b>...</b> Before/After -...

There will be a significant weight-savings when switching to an aluminum or carbon fiber glasspack exhaust. The exhaust output flange on the header is 32mm so keep that in mind if you're looking to do this to a similar bike yourself. The exhaust should also be the same on most of Piaggio's line-up that has a LEADER engine. That includes Vespa, Aprilia, and Piaggio proper bikes ranging from 125 to 200cc. There may be others, so do your research before attempting to do this work yourself, and if you have any doubts at all have a professional do it for you. I like cheap parts. I don't mind waiting some time longer if I can secure a really good deal and save a lot of money. In this case I found a CR125 radiator that fits well into this project and will be installed on such. Its a little beat up but does not leak and will be made to fit fairly easily.
